The Tortuga Music Festival is back to the Tortuga Music Festival to Fort Lauderdale beach.

The festival began Friday afternoon and will run until Sunday evening. More than 30,000 people are expected on the beach during the event and canceled in the past due to the virus outbreak.

The festival will feature some of the most famous stars of country music. This year's lineup includes performances by Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, John Pardi, Cole Swindell, Jimmie Allen, Michael Ray, Chris Lane, Gabby Barrett, and Lee Brice.

Fort Lauderdale police and fire rescue officials said they've met with the concert organizers for six months to plan the event. Police officers and firefighters will be on duty throughout the concert and the surrounding region.

"We'll have more than 38 paramedics working on the site. In addition, there's a pop-up medical facility which is staffed by doctors and nurses and lifeguards who guard the water's edge," stated Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Batallion Chief Stephen Gollan.

City officials are incredibly sensitive to the events during this year's Astroworld Festival in Houston last weekend when revelers smashed into the stage, and eight were injured.

"The most effective method for us to explain our security strategy is like an Iceberg. What you can see at the top is what you can see in the way you step into the event. It's nothing compared to what's happening in the background," explained Fort Lauderdale Assistant Police Chief of Operations Dana Swisher.

Tortuga Music Festival features some of the most famous stars in rock, country, and roots and country music. Over 100,000 participants from 50 states and 22 nations attended the fifth Tortuga Music Festival. Want to purchase Tortuga Music Festival tickets? Tickets4Festivals is the place to go! Many event-goers said to CBS4 that they feel secure when they go to the event.

"I've probably attended 50 country music shows in my life. However, I've never attended one that has ever had a death, so I'm guessing the setting will be more relaxed in comparison to AstroWorld," said Nick Murphy.

"I do not think that it will be the same as that because we've been here before, and we are familiar with the way it's done. They limit the number of tickets available," said Emily DiMatteo.

Anyone who is planning to attend should be aware that there isn't designated parking for the event,

Attendees are invited to take advantage of rideshare services or Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi. Taxis and rideshare services utilize Harbor Drive for passenger pick up and drop off. Rideshares may be fined for picking up passengers or dropping them off in any other location.
